Peaceful Spring

This is another picture I took on my
gaunt through Wv and VA, MD too. I
thought what a peaceful scene, but sad
at the same time as you could tell it was
being kept up by the owner, but no
longer in use. Maybe a job kept the owner
busy or out of town, but being kept up
for a future use as as farm or hobby farm
once again. I also thought what a wonderful
picture to do in colored pencils.

Pretty in Pink

More pictures from Ft. Ashby WV. Aren't these flowering Crab Apple Trees gorgeous? They look like clumped roses up close. Mother Nature is really showing her beauty.

Rooster Reference

I couldn't believe how cooperative this rooster was
for me to take pictures for reference work. I have
never had the chance to get this close to one to take
such great pictures. No way would I have gotten this
close to a big guy like this if there was no fence
between us....LOL. That would be when I would become
the bigger chicken!

Mountian Spring

This picture was taken in Ft Ashby, WV the other day.
I was visiting a close friend and her daughter on my way
home from a seminar painting with Rebecca Baer for 4 days.
This was taken at a cousins farm. More pictures to follow.

Lonely

Looks like my little gargoyle I bought on a visit to the Biltmore Castle at their giftstore looks a bit lonesome. He has one little wild violet growing from under his posterior. Won't be long an the garden will be blooming and lots of things to keep him happy.

Added Spring Flowers

These are just some more of the pictures I took at our Central Park the other day. It rained nicely last nite, but just enough to knock off a lot of the blossoms of the the Tulip Trees to make a gorgeous ground cover today. I was on my way to an appointment and of course didn't have my camera. I have to go out later so I may take a run down the hill and take one later today.
I found there were so many different varieties of the Daffies that I gave up trying to get pics of all of them. Why do they turn their pretty heads down....I am too dang out of shape and old to get down on my hands and knees to take head on pics. I can see it now....Hey you over there....can you help an old lady up? LOL, somehow that is not a pretty picture.
I took this picture at a stop sign through our open sun roof on the car. Really made for a great picture. I had the people in the car beside us laughing when they figured out what the heck I was doing. I don't think they were impressed....LOL.

Central Park

Spring is in its full glory of color here in Central Park. Ashland, KY is very fortunate to have such a wonderful park that every one gets to enjoy year round. My husband is a park walker, so every day he goes before 7:00am and meets up with his walking group of friends and does 4-5 laps around the park. The park is about a mile and a quarter around. There is a major medical complex across the street at one end, Kings Daughters, with expansions going constantly, then the other three sides are gorgeous older homes that are very well maintained.

Its so neat to see all the different photographers doing so much with this display of daffodils. Many take pictures of small babies surrounded by the flowers, even weddings are popular. My sister in law Jo said there was a wing back chair sitting among them yesterday as they were setting up cameras. Now that should have been an interesting site to see. Each year these flowers grow further and further out into the park grounds. Many have crossed a street to start towards the pond in the park.
